What happens to my CRM if a data center goes down?
If a data center goes down, your customers still need the next appointment to exist. On Free, the application fails over and the database promotes a standby; a few minutes of the newest writes may not be there. On a paid plan, another region already has those writes, so the CRM does not rewind. This is the difference the reliability cluster exists to explain. We will not call Free “true active-active” because that rewind is real.

The three things that must survive
The public site (so people can still reach you), the CRM record (so you know who called), and the job that was mid-invoice. Compute failover covers the first. Only true active-active data covers the second and third without a rewind window.

- Will the website stay up if a region fails?
- The application tier is active-active, so another region can keep serving pages. Data durability is the separate question, and it depends on Free vs paid.
- Do I export the CRM to fail over?
- No. Failover is a topology operation, not a CSV. Paid upgrades are a metadata and zone change, not a data export.
