Reliability

What is active-active reliability (and why it matters for your website + CRM)

Active-active reliability means your website and CRM keep accepting work if one region fails. On Briovela, every paid plan is true active-active at the data layer: writes land in more than one region with RPO zero. Free stays on a single-region high-availability baseline with active-passive data, then upgrades into that write-anywhere posture. This page explains the difference in plain language, honestly by tier, without claiming Free is write-anywhere.

The short map

Three tiers, two honest sentences

Paid is write-anywhere data. Free is high availability with a standby. We will not mix those claims.

R1 — Free

Active-active application. Active-passive data: primary plus standby plus point-in-time recovery. RPO measured in minutes. Upgrade path is a topology change, not a CRM export.

R2 — every paid plan

True active-active data on a pooled multi-region cluster. Write-anywhere, consensus, RPO zero. This is the standard, not a Premier-only checkbox.

R3 — dedicated / BYO

Same data posture as R2, physically isolated for residency, compliance, or scale. Not required to claim active-active writes.

FAQ

Direct answers

What is active-active reliability?
Active-active means more than one live region can serve traffic. True active-active data also means more than one region can accept writes, with no promotion step and RPO zero.
Does every Briovela plan include true active-active data?
No. Free is R1: active-active application, active-passive data. Every paid plan is R2 true active-active data. R3 is a dedicated or bring-your-own cluster for residency or scale.
What happens on Free if a data center fails?
The app can fail over. The database promotes a standby. You can lose up to a few minutes of un-replicated writes (RPO measured in minutes, not zero). Paid plans target RPO zero.
