- Active-active means more than one live region can serve traffic. True active-active data also means more than one region can accept writes, with no promotion step and RPO zero.
- Does every Briovela plan include true active-active data?
- No. Free is R1: active-active application, active-passive data. Every paid plan is R2 true active-active data. R3 is a dedicated or bring-your-own cluster for residency or scale.
- What happens on Free if a data center fails?
- The app can fail over. The database promotes a standby. You can lose up to a few minutes of un-replicated writes (RPO measured in minutes, not zero). Paid plans target RPO zero.
